Savanna's Baby Pics

Our friend Kurt came over to our house on Saturday and took pictures of Savanna for us. He is taking a photography class at UVU and was nice enough to do Savanna's pics. He just started with the whole photography thing and I think he did really well! It was his first time photographing a newborn and they look great! Here are some of my favorites! Check out his blog to see more of his work http://kurtscameras.blogspot.com/.

My "taste" of being a stay at home mom

Well, my stay at home mom days are ending soon and I'm really sad to see them go! I am going back to work on Monday, May 4th so I only have one week left. I've had so much fun being able to stay with my kids and play outside everyday. Its been great! Aside from being able to be with my kids, I've been able to get things done around the house! Its been so great to have time to cook dinner for my family most nights and desserts for my husband, such as these lovely oreos we made last night. :)

I've also been able to do laundry, clean out our closets, clean my house, pick up after Canyon when he goes down for naps, and clean out my car!
I still have one week left at home, which I plan to thoroughly enjoy, I'm just not sure how I'm going to get anything done when I go back to work. Hopefully life won't get too stressful! Wish me luck and pray Scott will get through school soon enough and I can make being a stay at home mom permanent!

Thanksgiving Point Farm Country

Yesterday we took the kids to Thanksgiving Point so they could see the animals. The weather was pretty good, finally, except for some wind that would come and go. Canyon's favorite part was riding the horses by far. He was so funny, he was nervous and excited all at the same time and kept doing the funniest nervous laugh.
Natalie, William & Katelyn are leaving us today to go back to Seattle and we will miss them and all the fun we've had while they were here! Hopefully we can continue to find fun things to do to keep Canyon busy!

Happy Birthday Canyon!

Our little guy turned 2 yesterday! I can't even believe how fast these 2 years have gone by!
For his birthday party he wanted to go to Chuck E Cheese's and since he gets everything he wants, we did! :) It was really fun and he can't stop talking about it. He loved it!

All I can say is thank goodness for places like Kangaroo Zoo! We took the kids there this morning and they had so much fun! My sister is still in town from Seattle and my brothers and sisters are all on Spring Break so we all got to go! It was great to be able to still go do something fun even though it is snowing in April!

Easter Weekend

What a crazy week / weekend we've had! My cousin Cody got married on Thursday and we spent the night before at their wedding dinner and then the next day at the temple and the reception afterwards. It was so much fun to see everyone that came into town for it. My cousin Jason and his wife and kids drove in from Tennessee so it was way fun to see them. My sister Natalie and her family flew in on Thursday also to bless her new little baby on Sunday. She will be here until next Sunday so I'm excited to spend the next week with her and her kids. Saturday we had our annual easter egg hunt at my Grandma's house and it was fun to watch Canyon hunt for eggs for his first time. After that we went up to Mike and Lisa's in Highland for the Sumner family Easter party. Sunday was Katelyn's blessing day and we had the blessing at my parents church. After the blessing we went back over to my grandmas for dinner and socializing some more. All in all it was a wonderful weekend and we are very tired! :)

My Love Hate Relationship

Ok so, Every few months, whenever there is a holiday I get this great idea to make sugar cookies. And every year I am about ready to kill someone by the time I am all done. Why do I do it? I started making cookies today at 5:00 and just finished about half an hour ago at 10:30. Is it really worth it? I don't think so! Someone remind me how much I hate this next time I get the big idea to make sugar cookies please!! :) Here is a picture of part (like an eighth) of the finished product.

Canyon's best friends

These are Canyon's new best friends... and my lifesaver!! We went to the Bean Museum with my Mom on Monday and while we were there we found these wonderful little plastic animals. They cost me $7 but they were well worth it. We've already lost a few so I will probably be making a trip to walmart or some other store to try and hunt some more down soon. Canyon has played with these all day long every day this week. He throws a tantrum before his nap time and bed time because he doesn't want to sleep, he just wants to play with his animals. They keep him occupied all day long and leave me free to care for Savanna. He is so cute with them too. I would probably have to say this is one of the best investments I've ever made. :)

This is Canyon giving his animals showers and baths.

And here the animals are all lined up watching him eat his dinner.

Big Helper

We have had Baby Savanna for one week now and its been so much fun having her at our house! Canyon absolutely adores her and he likes to always be in the same room as her and hold her hand. Its very cute. He also likes to help by throwing away her diapers for us and he likes to help feed her bottles. He has been a lot better with her than I thought he would be so its been reaally good. Here is a picture I took on my cell phone of him sitting next to her holding her hand.
